Normally, students cannot open a bank account until you get an alien registration card.
However, GKS scholars need to open a bank account quickly in order to get a scholarship.
At Busan Bank on campus, you can open an account with your passport, and you can submit your alien registration card to them later.
Therefore, make sure to open an account at Busan Bank on campus.

<To open a bank account, you’ll need>

1. Passport Copy

2. Certificate of Enrollment

Language course students: Issued by the Office of International Affairs
Degree students: Issued by the certificate issuing machine on campus

3. Proof of Residence (Dormitory Certificate or Lease Agreement)

Dormitory certificate: Issued by the Office of International Affairs
Lease agreement: Must be submitted individually

4. A copy of your national ID card if your country has a TAX Identification Number (TIN)
(Please refer to the attached file for the list of countries with TINs.)

If your country is not listed in the attached file, your country may not issue a TIN.

In this case, please tell the bank staff:
“My country does not have a TIN.”

5. GKS Invitation Letter

Students from North Korea, Myanmar, and Iran, which are designated as FATF high-risk jurisdictions, must visit the bank in advance. The account opening process can only proceed after approval from the bank’s head office, so it may not be possible to open the account on the same day.

Therefore, please make sure to open your bank account as early as possible and keep this in mind.
